Roses Are Red

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Sugar is sweet,
And so are you!

Lavender's blue

http://s41.radikal.ru/i093/0903/34/8babd43c71eb.jpg
Lavender's Blue from "The Baby's Opera"
Illustrated by Walter Crane,
Published by George Routledge & Sons, 1877

О песне

Lavender's Blue is a traditional song often used as a lullaby. It is not known who it was written by or when, but it dates back to at least the 1680s. Like many lullabies it has probably been passed down through generations and has changed every time. There are as many as thirty verses to the song, for example an alternative opening is "Lavender's blue, dilly dilly, rosemary's green"

"Голубая Лаванда" - это народная песня, которую часто поют как колыбельную. Её автор неизвестен, но упоминания о ней датированы не позднее 1680-гг. Как многие колыбельные, она передавалась из уст в уста, из поколения в поколение и каждый раз подвергалась небольшим изменениям. Существует по крайней мере тридцать вариантов этой песни, так, альтернативное начало песни: "Голубая Лаванда, дили-дили, Зелёный Розмарин".

Lavender blue, dilly-dilly,
Lavender green,
If I were king, dilly-dilly,
I'd need a queen.
Who told me so?, dilly-dilly,
Who told me so?
I told myself, dilly-dilly,
I told me so!

If your dilly-dilly heart
Feels a dilly-dilly way
And if you'll answer yes.
In a pretty little church
On a dilly-dilly day
You'll be wed in a dilly-dilly dress of

Lavender blue, dilly-dilly,
Lavender green,
Then I'll be king, dilly-dilly,
And you'll be my queen.

Lavender blue, dilly-dilly,
Lavender green,
Then I'll be king, dilly-dilly,
And you'll be my queen!

Традиционная версия:

Lavender's blue, dilly dilly, lavender's green,
When I am king, dilly, dilly, you shall be queen.
Who told you so, dilly, dilly, who told you so?
It was my own heart, dilly, dilly, that told me so".

Call up your men, dilly, dilly, set them to work
Some with a rake, dilly, dilly, some with a fork.
Some to make hay, dilly, dilly, some to thresh corn.
While you and I, dilly, dilly, keep ourselves warm.

Lavender's green, dilly, dilly, Lavender's blue,
If you love me, dilly, dilly, I will love you.
Let the birds sing, dilly, dilly, And the lambs play;
We shall be safe, dilly, dilly, Out of harm's way.

I love to dance, dilly, dilly, I love to sing;
When I am queen, dilly, dilly, You'll be my king.
Who told me so, dilly, dilly, Who told me so?
"I told myself, dilly, dilly, I told me so!".

Secret Seahorse

Written by Stella Blackstone,
Illustraited by Clare Beaton

http://s39.radikal.ru/i084/0906/32/b330821b8f69.jpg

I saw a secret seahorse
Deep down in the sea.
I tried to swiim beside him.
He was too quick for me.

http://s41.radikal.ru/i094/0906/4e/f16639080de5.jpg

He swam past reefs of coral,
With colours flower bright.
He swam past flickering fishes,
Then disappeared from sight.

I asked the octopuses
Where he might have gone.
They just shrugged and shook their legs.
I steadily swam on.

http://i061.radikal.ru/0906/70/4ab1f34713e2.jpg

I came across a mermaid,
As she combed her hair.
I found an acient shipwreck,
but couldn't see him there.

At last I found a secret cave!
It looked so dark and dim,
I stayed outside and shivered.
I did not dare go in.

Then in the cave a saw a glint,
And guess who greeted me?
Not just one secret horse -
A whole seahorse family!

MY DOG

http://forumupload.ru/uploads/0003/e6/e2/9635-1.gif

This is a great song in the gospel style, with the words adapted from the original 'My God'.
This version has some fun actions to go with it too!

Music - SingUp

My dog is a good dog, yes he is.
My dog is a good dog, yes he is,
For he sits and begs and he stands up tall,
He chases his tail all around the hall.
My dog is a good dog, yes he is.

My dog is a good, good dog, yes he is.
My dog is a good, good dog, yes he is,
For he sits and begs and he stands up tall,
He chases his tail all around the hall.
My dog is a good, good dog, yes he is.

My dog is a good, good, good dog, yes he is.
My dog is a good, good, good dog, yes he is,
For he sits and begs and he stands up tall,
He chases his tail all around the hall.
My dog is a good, good, good dog, yes he is.

Ring a Ring o' Roses

http://forumupload.ru/uploads/0003/e6/e2/9253-5.gif

A traditional nursery rhyme.
You can incorporate a circle game with actions.

Music - SingUp

http://i051.radikal.ru/1005/a0/29c274bcea59.jpg
Kate Greenaway's Mother Goose illustration
of children playing the game

Ring a ring o’ roses,
A pocket full of posies;
Atishoo atishoo,
We all fall down!

The King has sent his daughter,
To fetch a pail of water;
Atishoo atishoo,
We all fall down!

The robin on the steeple
Is singing to the people;
Atishoo atishoo,
We all fall down!

The wedding bells are ringing,
The boys and girls are singing;
Atishoo atishoo,
We all fall down!

Sping Chicken Song

http://forumupload.ru/uploads/0003/e6/e2/9705-4.gif

One mother hen sat on 4 little eggs,
Keeping them warm in her little egg nest,
Then one day she heard a crack
And a little voice said, as the egg was hatched;

“I’m… a…spring chicken! I’m yellow and small.
My feathers are fluffy and they’re keeping me warm.
My legs are not long, so I’ll never be tall,
But I’m a real spring chicken and I’m having a ball!
(Chicken I’m a chicken, I’m a havin’ a ball!)”

One mother hen sat on 3 little eggs,
Keeping them warm in her little egg nest.
Then one day she fell asleep
And a little voice said in a whispered tweet:

“I’m… a…spring chicken! I’m yellow and small.
My feathers are fluffy and they’re keeping me warm.
My legs are not long, so I’ll never be tall,
But I’m a real spring chicken and I’m having a ball!

Keeping them warm in her little egg nest.
Then one day she moved about
And a little voice said, as a chick popped out:

“I’m… a…spring chicken! I’m yellow and small.
My feathers are fluffy and they’re keeping me warm.
My legs are not long, so I’ll never be tall,
But I’m a real spring chicken and I’m having a ball!

Keeping it warm in her little egg nest.
Then one day she gave a sigh
And a little voice said “SURPRISE! SURPRISE!!”

“I’m… a…spring chicken! I’m yellow and small.
My feathers are fluffy and they’re keeping me warm.
My legs are not long, so I’ll never be tall,
But I’m a real spring chicken and I’m having a ball!
